Shakuhachi Revival Sesshin 2021 at the Zendo in Karlstadt, Germany. We started on Friday 5pm, until Sunday 4pm. After the looong corona break a ray of hope and light, at the gathering in the spirit of the komuso, searching for the true sound! We played Robuki and Kyorei together and made zazen. Three days full of Shakuhachi playing, conversation and zazen. We played Darani together, Tamuke, Murasaki Reibo, Gematsu and Sokkan. On Saturday we were five Shakuhachi players. After one year break we enjoyed conversation about Shakuhachi and playing and being together! As a community of Shakuhachi players we played the holy pieces in the spirit of the komuso and zen. The next meeting will be in autumn in the zendo Karlstadt.

Unfortunately, the Zendo is still closed. The seminars are also cancelled until further notice. We hope to start again in the fall of 2021. However, I have not been idle and offer online lessons and have produced a first CD in 2020 and 2021. It contains traditional pieces, compositions and includes original recordings from the Zendo and from the temple in Japan. I have also included audio recordings from my favorite places in Japan. The bamboo grove next to the temple of my shakuhachi teacher in Japan (Shiku Yano). Original recordings of a morning devotion of the 2018 pilgrimage.
The CD - Japan mountain spirit - is now available on Amazon. You can buy the CD or individual pieces there. Many thanks to all who have already purchased the CD. It is also distributed via streaming services, but unfortunately not much reaches the artists. If you want to support me, a direct purchase would be better. Thanks (direct e-mail to japanshakuhachi@gmail.com, price 22,- Euro (within Europe) or 24,- Euro (world) Including postage.
