I make fine Shakuhachi out of original bamboo from Japan (mostly Nagano and northern Aichi). It is a very robust and strong bamboo. I only use bamboo from Japan out of spiritual reasons. I don`t use bamboo from China, US or Italy.
Shiku Yano campaign
Thank you for your prayers, donations and support. More than 3.000 USD were collected and the fundraising is still open. The surgery was in October and it went well. Mr. Yano is recovering now and things look good. The campaign is still open to cover the costs of the surgery.
My long-time friend and teacher Shiku Yano was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year. After surgery and chemotherapy in April, early stage metastases were found in the liver. Now, in mid-October 2020, an operation of the liver is scheduled to take place, with some parts of the liver being removed. Unfortunately in Japan there is only a minimal basic insurance for the hospital. The method used for operating Shiku and treat the liver must be paid for privately.
Shiku Yano has been a Buddhist monk for 40 years, serving people and students at his temple in Agui, Japan. He lives in Japan near Nagoya. He is a player of the Japanese bamboo flute Shakuhachi. He has made numerous concert tours to Europe and has been an ambassador of Japanese culture and music for decades. His dream is to make a concert tour through Europe in 2021 again! He also has many students who learn the Shakuhachi with him. He touched peoples hearts at his concerts with his flute playing. Please help to finance the operation and the following rehabilitation. Shiku told me two weeks ago, that it is his dream to make one more Shakuhachi concert tour through Europe in summer 2021. He lives only for the Shakuhachi and his temple.

私の長年の友であり恩師でもある矢野司空先生が今年の初めより大腸がんと診断されました。4月に手術と化学療法を受けましたが、その 後、肝臓への早期転移が見つかりました。2020年10月には、肝臓の一部を摘出する手術が勧められていますが、残念ながら日本の基 本的な保険では、最小限の病院治療のみが支払われ、今回の矢野先生の肝臓への手術ならびに治療は私費で支払う必要があります。

Vielen Dank für Ihre Spenden und Unterstützung. Bisher wurden fast 3.000 Euro gespendet und die Spendenkampagne läuft immer noch. Es ist schon eine schöne Erfahrung, wenn man sieht, das Menschen auf der ganzen Welt gespendet haben.
Bei meinem langjährigen Freund und Lehrer Shiku Yano, der schon mehrere Male in Deutschland in verschiedenen japanischen Gesellschaften mit seiner Shakuhachi aufgetreten ist, wurde Anfang des Jahres Darmkrebs diagnostiziert. Nach einer erfolgreichen Operation und Chemotherapie im April, wurden frühe Metastasen in der Leber festgestellt. Mitte Oktober 2020 soll nun eine Operation der Leber stattfinden, wobei ein Teil der Leber entfernt wird. Leider gibt es in Japan nur eine minimale Grundversicherung für das Krankenhaus. Die Methode, mit der Shiku an der Leber operiert und behandelt wird, muss er privat bezahlen.
Shiku Yano ist seit 40 Jahren buddhistischer Mönch und lebt in Japan in der Nähe von Nagoya in seinem buddhistischen Tempel. Er ist ein Spieler der japanischen Bambusflöte Shakuhachi. Er unternahm zahlreiche Konzertreisen nach Europa und ist Botschafter der japanischen Kultur und Musik seit Jahrzehnten. Auch hat er viele Studenten, die die Shakuhachi bei ihm lernen. Er berührte die Menschen bei den Konzerten mit seinem Flötenspiel. Bitte helft mit, damit die Operation und die anschließende Reha finanziert werden kann. Jeder Euro/Dollar/Yen zählt. Auch kleine Summen von 5 oder 10,- Euro helfen dem Ziel näher zu kommen! Wäre es Ihnen möglich die Nachricht weiter zu verbreiten?
